What does the position entail?
The Director of Equipment is responsible for maintaining accurate records of all IMHA owned equipment and jerseys, supervising the equipment room/storage area, arranging for the purchase of new equipment and the repair of existing equipment. The Director of Equipment is a voting Member of the Board and is required to attend regularly scheduled meetings.
Preseason Responsibilities:
- Inventory all equipment, jerseys, goaltending equipment and accessories
- Ensure jerseys are sorted by size (U7 to U18) and grouped according to style and number sequence
- Order all required Timbits/AtoMc Jerseys for the coming season
- All jerseys should be washed
- Arrange for the purchase of any new equipment as approved by the board
- Order Socks to replenish existing IMHA inventory
- Arrange for the disposal of any excess equipment
- Ensure all puck bags are replenished and ready to go for the beginning of the season, ordering/purchasing any required pucks prior to evaluations
- If required/requested, prepare and investigate possibilities to assist the Board of Directors in selecting Coach Appreciation items for the upcoming season
During Season Responsibilities:
- Once teams are selected, assign jerseys, goaltending equipment, and locker keys to each team ensuring the appropriate inventory forms are signed and filed
- Organize all clothing orders for the IMHA and place order; distribute clothing to teams; clothing orders may take place twice during the season
- Evaluate if a second order of game socks is necessary, no later than January 15th
- Be available to receive all equipment back into inventory ensuring the appropriate inventory forms are completed
- Inspect all equipment noting any damage and advise treasurer of any equipment bonds to be withheld
- Prepare repair/replacement recommendations for the Board
- Ensure all lockers are cleared out
- Replace/re-arrange locker padlocks in the Equipment Room
